The next generation smart mobility “RODEM” is now available for guide tours in Yaesu-Nihonbashi area, Tokyo

(headquarters in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture; President: Yuji Kawakubo; hereinafter referred to as “tmsuk”) has announced the introduction of city tours using the next-generation smart mobility RODEM in Tokyo Midtown Yaesu (located in Chuo Ward, Tokyo; managed by Mitsui Fudosan Co., Chuo Ward, Tokyo) through Neomobi Corporation (located in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture; CEO: Yuka Kamiura). The operations commenced on June 8, 2023.

RODEM is a universal-design mobility that realizes true barrier-free mobility for all, allowing anyone to enjoy mobility. It was commercialized after a demonstration in the welfare state of Denmark. This marks a groundbreaking milestone as it is the first time a city tour utilizing RODEM has been implemented worldwide!
■About “Machimobi”
Machimobi, an innovative mobility experience, provides two distinct types of transportation: the electric “RODEM” and the traditional Japanese-style “Jinrikisha.” Both options allow visitors to embark on tours from the “Yaesu-Nihonbashi” area while receiving informative commentary from knowledgeable navigators. Serving as a central hub, the newly opened “Tokyo Midtown Yaesu” from March 2023 offers a perfect starting point for visitors to explore the ever-evolving Tokyo Station area.

RODEM is a next-generation mobility that provides an exciting riding experience and captivates onlookers with its compact dimensions of 690mm in width and 1000mm in length. It takes you on guided tours through the dynamic city of Nihonbashi, seamlessly blending tradition and modern trends.
Duration: Approximately 1.5 hours (accompanied by a guide).
Fare: 3,800 yen (tax included).
Ride times：①10:00～ ②13:00～ ③15:00～
Please note the following guidelines:
※Maximum number of simultaneous reservations: 2
※Maximum age for single rides: 16 years old.
※Each passenger between the ages of 10 and 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when riding alone.
※For passengers under 10 years of age, they may ride with a parent or guardian.

RODEM is an advanced smart mobility solution of the next generation, designed with a universal design approach to provide genuine barrier-free mobility for individuals of all abilities. Its rear-entry design and seat elevation mechanism facilitate easy transfers from beds and chairs. Additionally, the elevated driving position allows for eye-level interactions with pedestrians, enabling sightseeing and seamless communication at counters while riding RODEM.
