<Background of development>

Track maintenance is indispensable for safe and stable transportation of railways. However, with the declining birthrate and aging population, labor shortages and the aging of workers have become major issues in the railway track maintenance industry. In order to support safe rail transport, it is necessary to secure track maintenance personnel and reduce costs.

On major domestic routes, the introduction of the large-sized track maintenance machine “Multiple Tie Tamper”, is being promoted. To complement the operation of such expensive large machines, we have developed a new track maintenance robot “Small tamping machine” that can efficiently perform track maintenance work with a small number of people.

<Product Overview>

Fixed rail subsidence and distortion caused by train running

Generally, railroads and ballasts (crushed stones) change gradually as trains pass. If these changes are left unchecked, the ride may become uncomfortable, so it is necessary to make regular adjustments in millimeter units. Small tamping machine is a track maintenance robot that can lift the rail and perform ballast compaction to correct rail distortion.

<Point>

1. Tamping work can be performed by a small number of people. And helps resolve labor shortages

The work that used to use a hydraulic excavator, special compacting equipment and special jacks can now be performed by a small number of people. And it helps to eliminate the shortage of human resources.

2. Reduce the burden on workers and improve work efficiency by performing heavy labor by robots

Robots perform heavy labor on behalf of humans, reducing the physical burden on workers and creating a comfortable working environment.
